 As a part of the Northwestern Memorial’s philosophy of care, the Arts Program serves to create a healing environment for patients, visitors and staff. Using evidence-based principles for the collection of 1000+ works, American Art Resources has worked closely with the Art Committee to select images that depict the strength of the human spirit and beauty of the natural world around us. The majority of the original work is by artists from the greater Chicago area or the central Midwest. Images depict familiar landscapes and gardens, and include commissions of Chicago landmarks. The rich ethnic and cultural diversity that defines Chicago is also portrayed in figurative work throughout the building. The Arts Program is featured as a giving opportunity by the Northwestern Memorial Foundation as a way of making a difference through philanthropy. |
