Kathy is an innovator and pioneer in developing consumer-focused art programs using experience design. She is a member of multiple boards and councils related to design research and lectures in the US and abroad as an expert in art programs that improve the patient experience. Kathy is the co-author, with Roger Ulrich, of the Evidence-Based Guidelines for Selecting Healthcare Art. She founded the REDCenter for art research, which has produced studies published in peer-reviewed journals and in Joint Commission’s Environment of Care, and the BRAND Studio to create brand-supported art programs for the corporate and hospitality sectors. Kathy has been featured in Business Week and The Coolest Entrepreneurs in America, and was named one of the 25 Most Influential People in Healthcare Design in 2009. She is the 2011 recipient of the Symposium Distinction Award.
