HOUSTON, TEXAS
Susan & Fayez Sarofim Pavilion
Project Details
The Susan and Fayez Sarofim Pavilion at Memorial Hermann–Texas Medical Center represents a landmark in healthcare innovation and compassionate design. As part of a $700 million expansion, this 17-story tower was built to support the most advanced trauma, critical care, and heart and vascular services, serving as the new home of the Red Duke Trauma Institute.
The art program was designed to celebrate both the strength of the Houston community and the healing power of visual connection. Featuring imagery of Houston’s most iconic landmarks and architecture, the collection instills pride and familiarity for patients and families. Abstract works in calming palettes add warmth and serenity throughout clinical areas, while the pediatric spaces include playful, uplifting pieces such as a custom mosaic designed to bring joy and distraction to young patients.
Together, these curated artworks honor the legacy of Memorial Hermann and reflect its mission to deliver exceptional care in a space that inspires comfort, resilience, and hope.
