PHOENIX, ARIZONA

Phoenix Children’s Arrowhead

Project Details

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States, and its art collection, An Oasis in the Desert, serves as a sanctuary of healing and hope for young patients and their families. The program was designed to transform the hospital into a place where art brings color, comfort, and imagination to every corridor.

Vibrant, whimsical artworks fill the space, encouraging curiosity and joy while supporting emotional well-being across a wide range of patient ages and acuity levels. Bronze sculptures of playful animals greet visitors at each elevator lobby, offering both moments of delight and intuitive wayfinding through the hospital’s expansive layout. Art becomes more than decoration—it becomes part of the patient journey, easing anxiety and nurturing a sense of discovery.

American Art Resources guided every phase of the project, from theme development and art committee collaboration to curation, procurement, and installation. By combining creativity with evidence-based design, our team delivered an art program that captures the spirit of healing while reflecting the vibrancy of the local community.
